DD Form 3057 – Application for Search and Seizure Warrant Pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 2703
DD Form 3057 is a form used by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to request a search warrant for an investigation of criminal activity. This application must include a detailed description of the location to be searched and a reason for seizing property or evidence. An investigator can only obtain a search warrant when they have probable cause to believe that there is evidence of criminal activity, a weapon, contraband, or other items that may be used to resist apprehension or escape. Typically, the area that is being searched must be secured (known as “freezing the scene”) before an authorized search can take place.
